The Louvre

The Louvre was enormous and rich and detailed… and absolutely stuffed full of pushy tourists. The scramble to take photos of the Mona Lisa is embarassing.

Regardless, the breadth and depth of artwork is amazing. It’s much more than we could get through in an afternoon – I don’t think we managed to see more than a single wing of the museum.

Of course, as an engineer, one of the most fascinating aspects of the museum was the architecture: a beautiful combination of classic stone and modern steel and glass,
